All new today…

I look around and all I see
The possibilities that are within me
The obstacles I faced in life
Seem far away, so old, so grey

I feel the urge of wanting life
I feel the need to fly up high
Into the light
Toward the sun

I start my life again today
This time, with open eyes and naïve ways
This time I know, it’s all for me,
For me in life, for me for life

Your Desert’s not a Desert at All

Chasing my past into the future
Carries the baggage I don’t want to keep
Everything broken, haunting and daunting
I wish to shrug off, let it be in the past

Need to lose my past baggage
In the whirlwind of life
In the past that has robbed me
That should rob me no more

I feel something inside me
Rise beyond my control
The best part about it
I’m not scared at all

…Living in a Box…

I feel safe in the box that I’ve created
Cuz I know that nothing will hurt me
I feel freedom and love in this shit hole
Yet I want to break free and just run

The walls keep me strong and protected
And I know I will never be hurt
Yet the fun, the life and existence
Outside of these walls seems so strong

I live in two worlds colliding
Wanting freedom yet loving my box
I wonder if one day I’ll save me
Or live to regret these old walls

The shadows of the past
Jump over to the future
They choke my breath from under
They make it hard to see…

The clear pure sunlight
That lives within us all
The warm rays that you shine on me
Unseen by shadows casting fear

One day too late
The shadows pass
And all I’ll see
Is My lonely shadow

When you were close to me

Then I wake up and realize

That you are gone again

I will not see your face today

I hold those days so near my heart
